For heterosexual married couples seeking a safe and legal path to parenthood, our agency offers three main destinations: Ukraine, Europe, and Georgia. Each jurisdiction has its own legal and organizational features. In this series of articles, we will analyze all available options in detail, starting with Ukraine as one of the most developed global jurisdictions in the field of international surrogacy.

The main deciding factor is a combination of convenient logistics and legislation that is maximally friendly to reproductive technologies. Our center offers the launch of surrogacy abroad programs in safe border regions (near Poland, Slovakia, or Romania). This allows parents to minimize their stay in the country: from a few hours to 3 days at the start, and about two weeks during the pre- and postpartum period.

Ukrainian surrogacy laws guarantee direct protection of the intended parents’ rights. The mandatory requirements include an official marriage and a genetic link between the child and at least one of the parents.

The spouses are recognized as the official parents from the moment of fertilization and embryo creation. In the birth certificate, the husband and wife are immediately listed as the father and mother. There are absolutely no mentions of a surrogate mother in the document. Patients have access to advanced options, including choosing an egg donor or sperm donor from an extended non-anonymous database that provides adult photos and the possibility of online or personal meetings. Additionally, PGT-A genetic testing and gender selection before the embryo transfer are legally permitted. In case of severe pregnancy pathologies, medical termination is allowed, which protects the rights of the future parents and guarantees the birth of a healthy child.

Launching the surrogacy process requires minimal effort from the patients. The initial visit for signing contracts, taking medical tests, and cryopreservation of biomaterial can take as little as a few hours, depending on the chosen program package and the required number of sperm samples. A remote start is also possible, where biological material is shipped by a specialized bio-courier from a foreign clinic.
